New reports are arising--from his agent--are that Peppers has a fallback plan if things fall through in Chicago, and nothing can be agreed upon.
Carl Carey--Peppers' agent--let it be known last night that the deal was the "Bear's to lose", and they might be losing it, but where does he go next?
All indications are that if Peppers can not land a deal in Chicago, he will be back to the first team that dropped out last night, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Many believe that the Eagles dropped out because Peppers asking price was just too high for their liking, but Carey is bring them back into the running.
"They were the first to call and they've made us a ballpark offer and it's good enough to where we'll make a visit.", Carey said of the Bears. "We don't want them looking over their shoulder worrying about other teams right now," he went on, "Pending the outcome of [The Chicago visit] we may visit with Philadelphia and see where we are from there."
He doesn't want the Bears looking over there shoulder's, but perches the Eagles right on top of the Bears' shoulder. Peppers has himself a quality agent.
Peppers wants to be in Chicago, and Chicago wants him at any cost. He has often been a guy nagged on for playing only for the money and not the love of the game, and we are seeing a prime example why.
The Eagles may be on his list if nothing happens in Chicago, but they are off in the far far distance. Julius Peppers will still be a Bear. Maybe not as soon as Bears' fans may have liked, but he will be there come the 2010 season.
