The Eagles made an offer to Julius Peppers, but they placed their offer on the table with a take it or leave it note attached, and went about their day. Not many people believed that Peppers would sign elsewhere than Chicago.
Even though they have only had contact with his reps, expect a visit to Philadelphia to happen soon for Kampman.
He previously had a trip scheduled to Seattle, but since the Eagles rumors have surfaced, that trip has been cancelled. Add that to the fact that he has not been garnering huge interest from any other teams should have him on a flight to Philadelphia soon.
Kampman is coming off of a down year in 2009, along with a torn ACL nine games into the season. The down statistics can be attributed to the switch to the 3-4 that the Packers did for the 2009 season.
It forced Kampman to lift his hand off the dirt, and stand up as an outside linebacker. That is one of the toughest things to do and is why many players do not pan out in the NFL when asked to switch. (Since were on the Eagles, Chris Gocong is a prime example)
Kampman should be fully healthy for 2010, and he'll be able to drop back down to defensive end and feel much more comfortable. Not to mention there's a guy by the name of Trent Cole on the other side who's pretty good and will take some pressure off of him.
With Cole and Kampman complimenting each other, the Eagles pass rush will envy most of the league.
