It's highly unlikely that La Canfora would come out and make such a definitive report without having some sort of source guaranteeing him that the story is correct, but for the Eagles to still not have any comment on the situation could mean trouble for this report.
It would certainly be a great hire for the Eagles as Jauron is obviously overqualified to hold such a post as a former Head Coach of the Year in 2001. Reid most likely saw this as an opportunity to use him for a season, get his DBs right, and allow Jauron some exposure to move up into a defensive coordinator role elsewhere in 2011.
Reid and Jauron were both on Green Bay's coaching staff under Mike Holmgren from 1992-1994. Reid was the offensive line coach, and Jauron was the secondary coach. Jauron had actually been the secondary coach there since 1986.
He hasn't held that post since then, bouncing between defensive coordinator and head coaching positions.
Again, I'm not exactly doubting the reports, but the fact that the Eagles have yet to comment could have La Canfora and others a bit nervous.
