Denver Broncos Deny Interest in Eagles' Donovan McNabb

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported that the Denver Broncos were one of three teams to contact the Philadelphia Eagles about Donovan McNabb. However, as expected, the Broncos are denying those reports, saying there's "no truth" to them.

However, this is also the same team that first said they weren't going to trade Jay Cutler. Yeah, well, we see how that turned out in the end.

The fact that they came out and denied the rumor could really mean anything. It's a mistake to trust anything these teams say, and the Broncos have especially been shaky over the past couple of seasons.

It's not surprising that they would want to deny the rumor in an effort to preserve a relationship with Kyle Orton if they're unable to swing a trade for McNabb. Orton has certainly been good for them, but I don't think anyone would actually argue that McNabb isn't a vast improvement over Orton.

We don't expect McNabb to be traded anywhere, so it's really a moot point.
