NFL Power Rankings: Week 16

Here are the Power Rankings following play in Week 16. The power rankings are derived using a unique formula putting emphasis on all facets of the game with certain categories having more impact on your team than other categories. Division games are important, as well as winning on the road.

The Formula = (Winning % X .31) + (Average Points For X .04) + (Net Points X .06) + (Home Win % X .06) + (Road Win % X .09) + (Division Win % X .13) + (Win % Last 5 X .24) + (Yards For X .02) + ((100-yards Against) X .05)

1. Indianapolis Colts - 76.428

Regardless of the loss, they are still the best team in the NFL. It also taught us as NFL fans that the true MVP of the NFL is Peyton Manning. The Colts looked absolutely dreadful to watch once he left the game. Will this come abck to bite them like it has in the past?

2. San Diego Chargers - 74.949

Some may argue that the San Diego Chargers are the best team in the NFL, and you won't get much of an argument from me. They're playing superb football, and seemingly blowing people out of the water on the football field. This was my pick for the AFC representative in the Superbowl last week, and I'm sticking to it.

3. Philadelphia Eagles - 71.370

They're rolling on all cylinders at this point in the season, and are finishing up a season the only way an Andy Reid coached team knows how, hot. But could the Jamaal Jackson injury derail the Eagles? They currently hold their own destiny in their hands for the number two seed. Win on Sunday afternoon and they earn a bye.

4. New Orleans Saints - 69.522

The team that I always thought the Saints were is finally showing up. Don't get me wrong, this is a good team, but they're not the team the media hyped them up to be. Any team that is ranked 24th in the league in defense will not bode well in the Playoffs.

5. Green Bay Packers - 64.279

They delivered a beating to the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday, and looked like one of the best teams in the NFL. They are a very well rounded team, and are a tough match-up for any of the teams in the NFC playoffs.

6. New England Patriots - 58.897

7. Cincinnati Bengals - 56.163

8. Minnesota Vikings - 56.115

9. Dallas Cowboys - 54.039

10. New York Jets - 52.330

11. Arizona Cardinals - 52.060

12. Baltimore Ravens - 47.713

13. Houston Texans - 40.717

14. San Francisco 49ers - 39.786

15. Carolina Panthers - 39.295

16. New York Giants - 39.242

17. Atlanta Falcons - 38.717

18. Denver Broncos - 38.486

19. Pittsburgh Steelers - 37.475

20. Miami Dolphins - 31.635

21. Tennessee Titans - 28.704

22. Chicago Bears - 24.192

23. Jacksonville Jaguars - 19.883

24. Seattle Seahawks - 16.868

25. Buffalo Bills - 15.483

26. Cleveland Browns - 11.462

27. Oakland Raiders - 9.900

28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 7.693

29. Washington Redskins - 7.486

30. Kansas City Chiefs - (-5.114)

31. Detroit Lions - (-15.770)

32, St. Louis Rams - (-19.059)
