NFL Week One Live Updates

I'll be posting updates from games in this thread. I got Sunday Ticket for free this weekend, so I'm using it to my full advantage. Be sure to check back often.

1:58PM: Despite his down preseason, Matt Stafford is looking good in his first NFL start. Granted, it's not against a great defense, but it's an NFL team. Linebackers are bouncing around, showing blitz, then backing off. Giving him all kinds of looks, but he's keeping his cool, and has the Lions still in this game.

2:00PM: Boy does my Cadillac Williams pick in fantasy look good. 8 carries for 77 yards, and a touchdown. Not bad. Move over Matthew Berry.

2:02PM: Well, Jake Delhomme must think this is the NFC playoffs again. Remember his 5 picks in that game against Arizona? Well he's got 2 now (Both by Mr. Sheldon Brown), and a fumble for a touchdown recovery. McNabb just hit Celek for a 10-yard TD and the Eagles are rolling after a 7-0 deficit 24-7.

2:06PM: Speaking of poised rookie quarterbacks, welcome Mark Sanchez to the party. He just hooked up with Chansi Stuckey for an easy 30-yard TD.

2:09PM: After a slow start, the Eagles defense has really snuffed out the run. Williams and Stewart have no where to go. Eagles are getting tremendous pressure on the quarterback.

2:15PM: Did anyone else see the Panthers owner run out of the stadium? I think he's on his way to Jeff Garcis'a house right now.

2:17PM: I haven't had my eye on this game too much, but at the half Jacksonville is only down 7-6. That catches me off-guard. Maybe that Peyton early interception in the redzone really shut down the spirits of the Colts offense.

2:20PM: Padding Donovan's stats. The shovel pass just put Philly up 31-7. To say the very least, I'm excited this Sunday.

2:24PM: Adrian Peterson has been held in check by the Browns today. Outside of his 13 yard rush, he has 8 carries for 12 yards.

2:27PM: Byron Leftwich has looked good. He caught way too much flack this off-season, and I've always been a fan.

2:28PM: Alright, since were making rule changes all the time protecting QB's and other players, there needs to be a new rule. In order to protect entire defenses, Drew Brees can't throw the ball anymore. I mean really? 4 first half TD's. Oh, and a side note: Who was my top fantasy QB? Just checking.

2:32PM: Upset alert. Minnesota down at halftime to Cleveland 13-10. I can only imagine all the "schisms" that will happen if the Vikings lose this game.

2:38PM: Mark Sanchez is just flat out impressive so far. I'm watching the game mix on Sunday Ticket and he's out the smiling and having fun. That's the way you should play this game, with a smile on your face. We'll see if the Jets can keep those smiles throughout the season.

2:40PM: Well, that was a fantastic half. I love football and I love Eagles football.31-10 at the half.

2:44PM: Hmm, a quick little thing I've noticed. Thomas Jones hasn't touched the football. Leon Washington has 10 carries right now, but zero for Jones.

2:46PM: Way to make me look bad, New York. Thomas Jones just got his first carry of the game. A 1-yard TD run. Jets lead Houston 17-0. Minnesota just entered the redzone.

2:50PM: Adrian Peterson just scored. It took 3 straight runs, but he got in there. Good stand by the Browns at first, and they've bottled him up all game. Again, outside of that 13 yard run, Peterson has 14 carries for 27 yards. 2 TD's makes it look a little better, but not much. 17-13 Minnesota.

2:52PM: We finally have a Roy Williams sighting. Took long enough. Romo found Williams for a 66 yard TD pass.

2:54PM: Something else I've noticed is the disappearing act of Andre Johnson. 1 catch for 7 yards. Props to Darrelle Revis.

2:59PM: Well, I hope this doesn't come back to bite me, but Winston Justice has performed fine so far. I'm glad for him too. He caught way to much heat for the Giants game.

3:05PM: Tony Gonzalez is making his presence known in Atlanta. 4 catches, 61 yards, and fresh off a 20 yard TD reception. 16-0 Atlanta. Elam missed the XP.

3:07PM: Pick number 3 for the Eagles defense. Looks like were fine and dandy so far. Add 3 sacks and I'm a happy camper.

3:09PM: Vintage McNabb scrambling for a short TD. He didn't get up as they cut to commercial. He was grabbing at both legs. It looks like cramps, but no word on an exact diagnosis.

3:14PM: Take a sigh of relief, McNabb walked off on his own, and looks fine. 38-10 lead, I think it's time we see Kevin Kolb, except for good reasons this time.

3:15pm: After keeping it real close, Brett Favre is pulling away from the Browns. Still a winnable game, but Favre put the Vikes up 24-13.

3:16PM: Kevin Kolb is in the game. So is McCoy. Asante made the Eagles 4th pick of the day. It really is time to see Matt Moore.

3:21PM: Well, I had the QB switch right, wrong guy. Josh McCown is now in for the Panthers. Looks like Delhomme is done for the game, and maybe for the year f McCown plays well. Dating back to the playoffs, Delhomme has 11 turnovers. 5 Interceptions against Arizona, 4 today, and a fumble today.

3:36PM: Josh McCown is injured. Is it now time for Matt Moore? Hope he's okay.

3:37PM: Lions are still keeping it close. Just put up a FG to bring it to 31-20 with 3 minutes in the 3rd quarter. Tampa Bay just scored as well, and their score is 20-14 as they trail Dallas.

3:39PM: Well, so much for that. Patrick Crayton just put the Cowboys back up by 13. Cowboys lead 27-14 with 12:43 left to play.

3:40PM: Keep an eye on Cincinnati. 2:50 to go and they're driving down 6-0. Is Chad going to make someone kiss the baby today?

3:41PM: It's still the Lions. Drew Brees just threw his 5th TD pass today. 2 to Jeremy Shockey. If you took my advice on my top fantasy players this week, you're in good shape.

3:43PM: Colts D comes up huge. Up by 2 and Jacksonville driving with under 2 minutes, Colts hold. Peyton's taking knees.

3:44PM: Miami finally gets on the board. Ricky Williams finds paydirt. 19-7 Atlanta.

3:48PM: Cedric Benson just put the Bengals in the endzone. 38 seconds remain. 7-6 Bengals.

3:50PM: Another pick for the Eagles. That's 5 on the day. I'm shocked. McCoy looks real good in his relief role. At least Philly will have one good reliever. (yeah, that's a shot at you Lidge.)

3:51PM: Upset Alert. Kansas City and Baltimore are tied at 24 with 3 minutes to go. Baltimore does have the ball.

3:53PM: So much for keeping Adrian Peterson under control. Browns defense got tired, and Peterson got movin'. 25 carries for 180 yards and 3 TD's. Minnesota should have this one in the bag. 34-13 with 2:04 left.

3:55PM: Big play. Flacco goes deep to Mark Clayton for the touchdown. Ravens are up 31-24 with 2:06 left. Atlanta has gone final. 19-7.

3:57PM: NY Jets have gone final as well. 24-7. Sanchez looked like a pro in his first start.

3:59PM: Turnover number 7 for the Panthers. Gaither picks up the fumble for Philadelphia.

4:00PM: Wow. What a play. The ball was tipped in the air, Stokley runs by and grabs it and is off to the house. Denver takes the lead 12-7 with 11 seconds left. Incredible.
