Will Brady Quinn Draw Interest on the Trade Block?

Not exactly following in the footsteps of former teammate Derek Anderson, who was cut yesterday by the Cleveland Browns, Brady Quinn may be the next Cleveland quarterback on his way out the door.

The Cleveland Browns have placed Quinn on the trade block according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, but what kind of interest will Quinn draw?

The Browns traded up for Quinn in the 2007 NFL Draft after Quinn found himself on a landslide down the draft board.

Unfortunately for Quinn, Derek Anderson followed up the pick with an outstanding 2007 campaign and found himself in the Pro Bowl leaving Quinn on the bench. Anderson has since fallen out of favor (and back in again) with the coaching staff and has been in a carousel with Quinn ever since.

The former Notre Dame quarterback has been very inconsistent with his throws, and highly inaccurate completing just 52.1% of his passes in 14 career starts, but he wasn't much better in college completing 58% in four years at Notre Dame.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a team that jumps out in my mind immediately. Quinn, as I've eluded to before, played college ball at Notre Dame under former Head Coach Charlie Weis, who is now the Offensive Coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs.

While Quinn has a very slim chance of becoming someones starter right off the bat, he would become one of the better back-ups in the league, and could even turn out to be a steal if placed in the right situation.

He should garner some phone calls, and the Browns should be able to squeeze a late-round pick out of their former starting quarterback. Don't expect anything to move quickly. Expect Quinn to be moved in and around draft day.

Should he be traded, the Browns are left in a unique situation with newly acquired Seneca Wallace and Brett Ratliff as the only remaining quarterbacks. They have been rumored to be in talks with the Philadelphia Eagles, but we'll just have to keep our ears open.
