The Cardinals sent a 2010 fourth-round pick and a 2011 seventh-round pick to the Jets for free safety Kerry Rhodes on Saturday.
Rhodes, who lost is starting spot in New York last season came back strong down the stretch and regained his starting spot with a vengeance. Rhodes recorded three interceptions in the final six games of 2009 and helped the Jets to a 5-1 finish and helped them on their AFC Championship run.
Rhodes was only a fourth-round pick of the Jets, and if he can continue his late season form, or get back to his 2007 form, the Cardinals will have themselves an upgrade at safety.
Rolle was often cited as being out of position, and blowing some coverages, which is some of the same knocks on Rhodes.
Both players are 27 and their contracts are very similar, so at the very least, it will be like the Cardinals never lost Rolle.
