Vince Young Could Start For Titans

Titan's owner, Bud Adams, has made it clear who he wants to start at quarterback for his franchise this upcoming Sunday when the Titans take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coming off a 13-3 season, the Titans had high expectations heading into the 2009 season, but after a 0-6 start, and a 59-0 loss at the hands of the Patriots, those hopes have plummeted.

Following the Patriots game, Adams told The Tennessean that he'd make Coach Jeff Fisher aware of his desire to have Vince Young start.

Fisher has stuck with Kerry Collins throughout the year, despite the 36-year-olds struggles this season under center, with 54 percent completions while throwing only five touchdowns compared to eight interceptions.

In his weekly press conference, Jeff Fisher did not immediately proclaim Collins as the starter as had been the case in previous weeks.

Young and Collins both shared first team reps during the bye week, but neither of them have been informed of their spot on the depth chart.

Fisher said that both quarterbacks had "good weeks" and that he would not discuss roster changes because they were "competitive issues".

Sounds to me like Mr. Fisher and Mr. Adams have opposing views on this situation and that if Young does start, it will not be 100% from Fisher.

Regardless of where the change originates, the only thing that matters is that it does take place. This team is in need of change, and what a better time to find out what you have in Vince Young than now? The pressure is off. 0-6. Go make plays young man.

Vince Young lost his job during the 2008 season when he suffered a knee injury, but now it's time for the switch back.

And this wouldn't be the first time Young has replaced Collins.

Young, the third overall pick in 2006, took over the offense after an 0-3 start by Collins and company and led the Titans to an 8-8 finish while winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Young is 18-11 over 29 starts for the franchise, and quite frankly, he only lost his job because of injury.

"If you don't play the guy and lose all your games, it is hard for you to see what he can do for you. Vince has won a lot of games for us.'' said Bud Adams of Vince Young.

That he has. Do the right thing, Jeff, make the change.
