Indianapolis to Sign Wide Receiver

We told you yesterday that the Colts had been working out some veteran wide receivers in order to replace the injured Anthony Gonzalez. Well, apparently they have no intention of signing any of the receivers they brought in.

Instead, Adam Schefter is reporting via Twitter that the Colts will sign former Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett.

We had talked about that as a possibility, but figured Baskett would opt to go to a team with a coach who he had worked with before in Philadelphia.

Wrong again.

The idea of catching passes from Peyton Manning in that wide open passing attack is a dream come true for a wide receiver, and he should be able to contribute some big plays in such an offense.
