Crabtree's Plan Didn't Work, Will Join Team Within 2 Weeks

Word around the San Francisco bay is that kinda-sorta 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree is getting nervous. It's becoming apparent that he expected the Niners to stumble and struggle offensively without him, causing them to spike their offer out of sheer desperation.

Obviously, that was not the case as they beat their division rival, and defending NFC champions, Arizona Cardinals.

49ers players who spoke with Crabtree are saying that he sounds anxious and that sitting out is killing him, which it should. It should hurt him to watch the team that thought enough of him to draft him while he's sitting on his couch. It should hurt to know that he's letting down anyone who has gone to bat for him or believed in him.

Now that he sees the Niners can win without him, I expect him to sign very soon, perhaps within the next two weeks. Most people are calling me crazy, but there's nothing worse for a football player than watching other guys play the game you love more than anything. He's the one who's desperate now, and will join the Niners soon.

Two weeks is the deadline I'm putting on Crabtree joining the 49ers.

Count it.

Also count on the 49ers cutting some money out of the deal now that he has missed one game, and could miss one or two more.
