Bears' Urlacher Out for the Year, Brooks in Chicago

Last night Brian Urlacher disappeared from the Chicago Bears defense in the middle of the game, and wasn't heard from for the rest of the night. Well, we heard from him today as he sent a text to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune and simply said "season is over."

Urlacher recently underwent surgery to repair a dislocated wrist.

This is another huge letdown for the Bears, who suffered a huge letdown last during at the end of the game as well when Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings burnt the Bears defense for a 50-yard touchdown pass to get the win.

It will be difficult to find a linebacker who can step in and play that Tampa 2 scheme that they play in Chicago, but the Bears think they're heading in the right direction. They've brought in Derrick Brooks, the Hall of Fame-bound linebacker who previously played under Lovie Smith during his time in Tampa.

Brooks is a weakside linebacker, so Lance Briggs could be kicked inside. However, that may depend on how well he can run the Tampa 2. If he can't, the Bears may just have to scrap it for the season.

Also, Pisa Tinoisamoa is out for a "few weeks," so Hunter Hillenmeyer may be asked to take over for those "few weeks."
