The Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans have both reached out to the athlete who really didn't have a fit in the NFL. He played quarterback in college at Arkansas, but no one really knew if he would play tight end or wide receiver.
The only thing everyone knew was that he wasn't going to play quarterback.
He was drafted as a receiver and was playing the position in the NFL, and just as he was seemingly hitting his stride, got caught up in drugs. He was caught with cocaine twice and was subsequently informally suspended from the league for a year.
It didn't come down from the league office, but all 32 teams unanimously decided that he was not a guy who they wanted on their teams.
Now that he's been forced to sit out for a season, and has been out of the headlines, it looks like some receiver-needy teams are vying for his services.
Word is that both offers are around $700,000 for one season.
If he goes to the Bengals, Chad Ochocinco's dream of playing alongside Terrell Owens may never come to fruition, but Jones may be the better fit all the way around.
