Tampa Bay Looking to Trade Up With Rams For Ndamukong Suh?

Chris Steuber of Scout.com is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could make a move to trade up into the first pick of the 2010 draft to select Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

The deal would reportedly result in the Bucs sending quarterback Josh Johnson to the Rams, along with their third overall pick and another pick later in the draft.

But if the Rams move back to the third overall pick, it would most likely be to select a quarterback anyway -- either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen. So why then would they want Josh Johnson from the Bucs?

And if they're as enamored with Michael Vick as everyone thinks, why trade for a poor man's Vick in Johnson? Vick may not be the most polished passer, but he's far ahead Johnson at this point.

However, PewterReport.com is reporting that there is no way the Bucs move up to the number one spot because they don't want to have the burden of that insane contract.

It might make more sense for the Bucs to just sit at three and hope that the Lions pass on Gerald McCoy. McCoy may not have the same talent as Suh, but he's certainly worthy of the No. 3 overall pick and could make the same impact that Warren Sapp had during his days in Tampa.

It's very possible that the Lions pass on McCoy and select a guy like Joe Haden instead, so the Bucs could still get a very talented defensive tackle without having to move up and shoulder that enormous contract.

The No. 3 pick won't be cheap either, but compared to what Suh will be making after the Rams draft him it's going to look like a bargain.

My money says that the Bucs don't trade up because of the contract. They're already in the hole with their other futbol team across the pond, so taking on the contract Suh will demand seems like a bad business move all-around.
