Bob Sanders Is the Most Overrated Defensive Player in NFL

For all the talk of how much good Bob Sanders does for the Colts' defense and how good of a player he is, it's really a moot point when he's watching from the sideline.

Which, as we all know, has been about half of his career.

In fact, I wrote an article about Bob Sanders back in June and came up with some surprising numbers. These numbers are from before 2009, but even before this season Sanders had only played 45 out of a possible 96 games. Even without his rookie year factored in, he's only played 39 of a possible 80 games.

For those of you who failed math, that's less than 50 percent through the length of his career.

So, Sanders has literally watched the Colts from the sidelines for half of his career. A leader that does not make.

We hear all the time about how he makes the Colts defense better and what a great player he is, but as far as I'm concerned talent doesn't mean anything when that talent is watching the game in street clothes.

The fact of the matter is that it is time for the Colts to move Bob Sanders. He's nothing more than a high-priced cheerleader at this point and is not worth the millions he's being paid to watch the Colts' defense.

There has got to be a few teams that would be willing to throw him a few million dollars and a set of pom-poms.
