Mort: Titans May Be Looking at Receiver Help

In response to a question from a fellow Twitterer (Tweeter? Who knows) about whether or not the Titans were looking for some help at receiver, Chris Mortensen said that the Titans could be looking at former Vikings wide receiver Bobby Wade.

He's currently the only one reporting this, but it's not surprising that the Titans would want to go after a vet like Wade who has been especially successful over the past two years catching passes from sub-par quarterbacks like Tarvaris Jackson and Gus Frerotte.

There should be a run on some veteran free agents this week as now their contracts are not guaranteed as they would have been were they on the roster for Week One.

In particular, Bobby Wade and Jon Runyan should have a lot of teams looking at them as they've each been able to find success and look to have a bit left in the tank. They can help a team either looking for a stopgap, or simply looking to win right now.

This week could be similar to the week of the June 1st cuts we used to see in years past. However with the CBA unrest, that was not the case this year. Veterans will be headed all over the place, and there could be some young guys kicked to the curb.
