Eagles Are Listening to Offers for Quarterback Donovan McNabb

ESPN.com is reporting, via their Insiders section, that five teams have called the Eagles about quarterback Donovan McNabb, and that coach/decision-maker Andy Reid is listening.

The report says that the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and Denver Broncos have all called Reid and inquired about the quarterback's availability and, apparently, have begun talking numbers although there's been nothing substantial.

Reid has said that McNabb will be his starting quarterback in 2010, but has always said that anyone can be traded for the right price.

That price will have to include a first round pick, or a first round talent, or the Eagles won't continue to listen, but if a team calls and says they're willing to part ways with a first, Reid will at least listen to what they have to say.

McNabb does have a say in where he goes, however, in the sense that no team will trade for him if he's unwilling to sign a contract extension with them.

In other words, McNabb will have to get traded to a contender for him to sign on, and since the Eagles won't want to trade him to a contender, the chances he gets traded are slim to none.
