This is an enormous blow to the Giants, who were relying on Kenny Phillips to be a playmaker in their secondary. Now there's a soft spot in the secondary that teams will attempt to exploit, and by all accounts will do just that.
The Giants win games on defense, so this could be a blow to the entire team, not just the defense.
